Year: 2014

On 14th en 15th of October our fieldpartner pt. Hapin gave a bookkeeping training to four staffmembers of a kiosk in Papua. The kiosk should generate income for the cacaucooperation, PATO, in order for them to become financial independent. In the meantime the farmers can concentrate in replacing the current cacauplant which is low in quality and non-resistent to disease with a more sustainalbe and strong variety called the coklat belanda. This variety was introduced in Papua in the 1950’s by the Dutch.

Cynthia Warwe and Dominggas Nari, both working for pt. Hapin but als certified ILO trainers gave the bookkeeping course which focused on topics like small business management,  bookkeeping and financial education for the family. To give the kiosk a kickstart they received a starting capital from pt. Hapin.
