In Papua soccer is immensely popular and Dutch football heroes such as Johan Cruyff and Rob Rensenbrink are still highly appreciated. Papuans love soccer. This “fever” has been picked up by the soccer girls from the Galanita Persipura U16 club.
In 2010 Hapin supported these soccer girl through their boarding school. The girls train to be the best soccer players in Indonesia or even the world while also ensuring that they graduate with full honours from high school. This way, the girls use their national passion in order to increase their self-esteem and better their chances on the labour market by ensuring that they graduate with a diploma.
