Early October Sietske Goettsch, student of International Relations, traveled to Papua for her research.
In agreement with Hapin she decided to stay in the Baliem Valley to investigate the potential for microfinance. Her research took several months. In her paper she reveals that already a lot of organizations/NGO’s give micrcredits in the Baliem valley. Her advice to Hapin is to work together with these organizations and expand the network.
