Sunday, June 26 Hapin had a stand at Amsterdam Roots Festival. This annual multicultural festival in Oosterpark attracts a diverse audience and has something for everyone.
Visitors can do workshops, listen to music and tast flavours from around the world. On the world market you can browse through different types of jewelry, handbags, wood carvings and bark paintings.
Unlike previous years, the sun shone exuberant and because of that this year’s festival attracted 60,000 visitors.
Our stand was manned by our volunteers Koen & Hetty de Jager, Elza & Andries Jan Zijlstra, Hans Redeker, Indjir Hanasbei and Papuan students Theresa Maturbongs, Elen Bless, Yenni Salosa Indra Firmansyah Through their enthusiasm, we have collected € 650, – picked up. Enough for two scholarships.
