Saveria-NunggutSaveria grew up in the Asmat, a region in the South of Papua. The Asmat have one of the most well-known woodcarving traditions in the Pacific, and their art is sought by collectors worldwide. Saveria however has decided to take a different path in life. She decided to enter Law school in Jayapura.

Saveria is receiving good grades because she is very motivated and enjoys her major. She decided to specialize in Criminal Law because she would like to be a Law Consultant with a focus on cases in which violence against woman play a central role. In her opinion Papuan women are very prone to violence. She wants to stand up for women and defend them in every legal way possible.

Next year during her internship she will have first hand experience in criminal cases and law suit processes. She will be stationed in one of the law offices or courts in Jayapura.

In addition to her education Saveria is involved in extra curriculum activities, such as being a member of the Catholic Students organisation and the Asmat students Association in Jayapura. Here she learns responsibilities en management skills.

Saveria would like to advice her fellow students to always be honest and responsible, starting from even the smallest of things. Work hard to achieve things valuable for something that will prove to be constructive in the future. Do not hide your gifts, skills and competences but use them for goodness for the people around you.
