Otis Breiram studied computer science at the STIMIK college in Jayapura. He still lives at home with his mother, brother and sister. His father died. Mother, who is in need of help, was alone to take care of the family. The annual, expensive registration fees for Otis’ study could no longer be paid. Survival was paramount. His study had to be canceled.
Hapin was introduced to Otis and was impressed by his motivation. On the recommendation of our local employee, it was decided to help him and the whole family. He received a scholarship. The long travel time to the campus was still a problem. Moving to a student house was not an option for Otis since his mother is too dependent on him. With financial support from Hapin, a good second-hand scooter has been purchased, in order for Otis to continue to live at home for the time being and help his mother as a caregiver.
