Project Description
Meet Julita (21): English Student
Julita comes from a close-knit family in Sentani. Her father is a truck driver, and her mother is a homemaker. With six children, the family income is tight. Still, Julita knows exactly what she wants: to complete her English studies. Her dream is to one day become a teacher, guide, and language instructor — helping young people move forward.
“I want to open a place where young people can learn English. Language opens doors” she says with determination.
This year, her youngest sister also started at the same university. Their parents couldn’t afford to support two daughters in college and asked Julita to pause her studies. While she understands their situation, Julita is determined not to give up. Instead, she’s actively seeking ways to fund her education herself — including applying for a scholarship from Hapin.
Julita is fully committed to her studies. As part of her practical training, she joined fellow students on teaching trips to remote villages like Bonggo and Sarmi, where they gave lessons to primary school children. The students covered their own costs for transport, printing, and teaching materials.
Julita is willing to report on her progress at the end of the semester, in line with our scholarship conditions. Her dedication and enthusiasm are contagious. With your support, Julita can continue her education, gain valuable teaching experience, and one day guide young people on their path.
