These two sisters from the village of Koya, near Jayapura, do not have luck on their side. Their father and mother died of AIDS. An uncle and aunt took care of them. Sadly the uncle died in June of this year. Besides taking care of her own family, his wife cannot possibly bear the costs for the girls as well. YPKM, a local social work organization, cares about the plight of Rossy and Margareth. They cannot survive without outside help.
Director Butarbar enlisted the help of Hapin to cover the girls’ education expenses. Writing materials, shoes, (obligatory) school uniform and the costs of registration and the (expensive) daily travel costs can be paid from the annual allowance. Margareth requires about 780 euros a year and her sister Rossy an amount of 345 euros. Based on the information received and the approval of the Hapin representative, Hapin has notified YPKM that they can count on us.
