Computer training is essential for many Papuans to be able to conquer a place on the labor market. Hapin supports two organizations that teach digital skills in Jayapura and Merauke.
Bengkel Kerja Papua (BKP), a group of ICT volunteers from Jayapura, regularly travels to remote areas for their training. And that brings with it the necessary challenges: not only are there few facilities for the trainers, there is also often no power available. Difficult, especially when dozens of computers have to be connected to it. That is why Hapin helped with the purchase of a portable generator. The fuel is supplied by the local community. In this way, BKP can also roll out its activities in non-urban areas.
