Yeri is studying at STIPER Agricultural College in Jayapura. He was born in a family of farmers in Sawa (Asmat area), but grew up in a foster family. This family managed to pay part of his tuition fees, but was unable to afford the whole amount. Hapin decided to contribute to Yeri’s tuition and also help him with his debts. A payment plan was drawn up by our scholarship coordinator Nova. The university agreed to payment in installments. Nova guides Yeri in meeting his payment obligations.
After graduating, Yeri wants to return to the Asmat region to apply modern agricultural techniques. This way he wants to contribute to the development of his people. Besides Yeri, three other students from the same asrama have been included in Hapin’s scholarship program.
